| AIA Virginia (AIAVA) is a statewide component of the American Institute of Architects and is the professional society representing some 2,500 Architect, Associate, and Allied members across the state. AIAVA advances the profession of architecture in the state through legislative and regulatory affairs, public awareness and advocacy, and design and professional excellence. The Branch Museum of Architecture and Design is a not-for-profit organization whose mission aligns with AIAVA’s outreach initiatives, and as such, AIAVA invests in supporting The Branch’s communications program through staff support. |
This position is responsible for conveying the organizations’ internal and external messages by creating, implementing, and overseeing communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organizations and their products.
Responsibilities (for both AIAVA and The Branch): • Develops, implements, and evaluates the annual communications plan. • Works with staff to create and implement marketing efforts for the organizations’ products and services. • Manages the development, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, publications, brochures, and websites. • Works with staff to develop, implement, and monitor programs to increase attendance and engagement in organizational programming. • Attends board, foundation, strategic planning, committee, and other meetings as required. • Provides occasional support to Sales Team, as needed. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Works closely with: • Managing Director and Other Staff Members • AIA Virginia’s Board of Director’s Vice President, Communications + Outreach • Local Component Presidents and/or Component Executives/Administrators and National Component communications
