The candidate must be able to direct the Site staff in all phases of property operations, the ongoing leasing and administrative functions of the property, and assist the site staff with resident relations by providing supportive services to the residents. The candidate must identify resident areas of concern and develop and implement plans to address those areas.
An Area Manager may supervise multiple sites in a given geographical area. The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial, operational, resident relations, and budgetary aspects of each site.
The frequency of inspections of the development may vary and will be set by the Vice President, but no less than quarterly. The Area Manager shall determine the quality of maintenance, status of rent collections, readiness of vacant units for occupancy, promptness of deposits and other financial reporting, budget performance, and to supervise, train, and evaluate the site staff.
Knowledge of YARDI accounting systems a plus.
Perform Section 42 and bond financing (if applicable) and audit reviews to insure compliance.
Oversee the lease-up, resident selection and occupancy requirements of new or redeveloped properties.
Meet and correspond with local, state, and federal representatives, residents, and vendors as required.
Attend inspections conducted by owners and/or agencies.
Knowledge of government-assisted housing programs/HUD regulations.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. If high school graduate at least five years’ experience in supervising multiple properties and must be able to deal effectively with residents, employees, and have financial management experience. The candidate must be able to work within deadlines, be organized, and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Local knowledge and community contacts will be important to establish from the onset. Compensation based on salary and experience, competitive benefits package and 401 (k) match.
